Scotch Whisky Experience Disabled Facilities
The Scotch Whisky Experience is a winner of the Scottish Tourist Board Thistle Awards in the "Tourism For All" category. This recognised our excellent practice in facilities for disabled and younger visitors.
Access
We have full wheelchair access throughout the attraction. Entrances to the Box Office and Shop are through fully automatic doors. A lift takes guests to each level. The Building is spacious with plenty of room in all Tour Areas, Shop, Bar & Restaurant for manoeuvring wheelchairs.
Wheelchairs access the Barrel Ride behind the cars. Guests who can leave the chair can access the Barrels, which can be held stationary.
Elevator
We have an elevator that provides access to every level of the building.
Facilities
We have a disabled visitor WC with all the necessary approved facilities and access.
Visually Impaired Visitors
The tour is fully guided and excellent description of the production process with our guides’ forte. Barley, Grist and Peat used in the production process are passed around for visitors to touch and smell. The nosing and tasting is accompanied by sensory aromas to stimulate the senses!
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Visitors
Printed material is available to back up the content of the tour. Visual imagery is used during the description of the production process. Sensory aromas accompany the nosing and guided tasting.
Disabled Visitor Groups
We can provide facilities for groups of any size.
